More in sorrow than in anger. No, anger is exactly it.

Bracks vows to rebuild, modernise schools

Victorian Premier Steve Bracks has promised to rebuild or modernise all of the state’s schools if Labor is re-elected.

Mr Bracks walked into Labor’s campaign launch at Ballarat to the tune of Absolutely Everybody and a standing ovation.

He began his speech by attacking the Opposition.

“Friends, they’re just not ready for government in this state,” he said.

Dear Mr Bracks,

Steve, how about you prove you're at last ready to govern this state like a Labour Premier. After two terms you still look like the government that Liberal supporters always want. If it weren't for Jeff the Barbarian going beyond the pale in their eyes you wouldn't be where you are today - wherever the fark that is. And how much goodwill and hope from the party faithful do reckon you've squandered? (The foolish assumption behind that question is that you actually give a toss.)

Never have we, nor would we ever, contemplate voting for the Tories, but nor would we contemplate giving succour to aimless, omphalopsychitic gutless wonders.

Not frightening the horses is not exactly a policy or a philosophy Steve, and a cosy coterie is not exactly a democratic institution.

Yours,
"Disillusioned" of Strathmore.

P.S. "Absolutely Everybody" ?!? Give us a 'k'n break!!!
P.P.S. I remember the long rule of Henry Bolte. A dreadful old roughcut Tory, but at least an entertaining and committed dreadful old Tory (from Ballarat territory too, Steve) who at least understood his rusted on voter base.
